Mikaila and Will spent an hour in downtown Winston Salem, North Carolina running around a small area known as Old Salem during their engagement session. They had brought along an old vintage bike to add a special touch to their photo and make them feel more unique to them and their love story. We had such a blast together and these photos remind me of something straight from a movie scene!

The timing of their engagement session was absolutely perfection, even on a cloudy day the sun came peering through right at the perfect time! I am beyond excited to photograph their wedding in September of this year at Camelot meadows, The perfect fall time venue. I always love when my couples bring along fun touches for their sessions and in this case Mikaila and Will brought along a unique bike that fit the exact vibe they were envisioning!

“Wow!! I am so obsessed! The bike was perfect, The photos re perfect, You did such an amazing job. I am so excited for you to capture our wedding photos in September!!”

What made this session especially meaningful was how it reflected who they are together — adventurous yet grounded, playful yet deeply connected. The vintage bike, the winter air, the historic setting — all of it came together to tell a story that feels personal and timeless. The kind of story that doesn’t rely on perfection, but on presence.
Engagement sessions like this are a reminder that beauty exists in every season. Cold fingers, deep breaths, quiet laughter — these are the moments that matter. Old Salem provided the backdrop, but it was the way they showed up for each other that made the session unforgettable

If you’re dreaming of an engagement session that feels nostalgic, intentional, and rooted in storytelling, winter might just be the season you didn’t know you were waiting for.
